Benrus was founded in 1921 in New York City by three Romanian immigrant brothers: Benjamin, Oscar, and Ralph Lazrus. The company name combines "Ben" (Benjamin) and "Rus" (Lazrus).

Benrus is one of the most historically significant American watch brands of the 20th century. Although headquartered in New York, most of its mechanical watches were assembled using high-quality Swiss movements, making Benrus an American company with Swiss horological expertise.

Among collectors, Benrus is considered one of the most underrated vintage watch brands — Swiss mechanical movements, authentic military history, and innovative mid-century designs without the Rolex/Omega premiums.

Here we have a highly sort-after circa 1930s Benrus Mini-Second Hand in 14K Tank case in stunning condition.

A good and thorough clean-up revealed a beautifully preserved 2-tone Copper Dial, Arabic Numerals and Spade Hands.

Its classic 14K Gold-Case was buffed as best as possible without compromising its shape and lines. The crystal was buffed and is now in excellent condition.

The mechanical movement was given a general clean-up on 28 July 2026. Equipped with the high grade E-90 Swiss Mechanical movement, 15 Jewels, 18,000 BPH. Timing shows approximately 20 seconds deviation daily, well within 30 second requirements for brand new modern automatic watch standards.

The case width and height are approximately 27.6mm (w/o crown) and 39.5mm respectively. The lug width is 13mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 18.5cm.
